When the 2025-2026 season comes to an end, so does the partnership between HØJ Elite and Anders Thomsen, who took over responsibility for the men's squad back in February.
"We'd like to thank Anders for the effort he has put in for HØJ Elite. He stepped up at incredibly short notice when we were in a difficult situation, and he has approached the job in a thoroughly professional manner. Anders has all the qualities that were needed in the effort to keep the men's team in the league, but we have to admit that the task proved tougher than any of us had foreseen," says Lars Vinther, CEO of HØJ Elite.
Lars Vinther explains that the decision regarding the head coach position was made following a thorough evaluation of the season.
"When we made an agreement with Anders, both parties were clear that it would only run until the end of this season, but with the option to extend if both parties wanted to. From HØJ Elite's side, we have decided that after a tough season and a disappointing outcome, it will be best to make a fresh start when it comes to the sporting leadership on the men's side. And that's what we have told Anders. But I'd like to reiterate that we have enormous respect for Anders' abilities and his approach to the job. We wish him the very best going forward and of course hope to see him in another exciting role in the near future."
