HØJ Elite welcomes lease agreement and progress on the arena project

Yesterday, the financial agreements concerning the private contribution to the upcoming Multiarena in Ølstykke were passed by a broad majority in the city council. It's a hugely important milestone, as it lays the foundation for sending the project out to tender.

Part of the overall agreement consists of a 10-year lease on market terms. The deal ensures that, for 10 years from the time it opens, HØJ Elite can use the Multiarena to a pre-agreed extent and at a pre-agreed rent. Here's what CEO Lars Vinther had to say about it:

"The lease gives us certainty on two fronts: that HØJ Elite will be able to use the Multiarena once it's finished, and that we know the financial terms for using it — that gives us a bit of peace of mind when it comes to planning for the future.

At the same time, the lease and the city council's decisions open the door for HØJ Elite to boost revenue through the sale of advertising space and the possible sale of the naming rights to the Multiarena — which is also extremely important given the business model handball clubs operate under."
