HØJ Elite has taken a big step closer to a new home venue in Ølstykke. Egedal Kommune has just signed a contract with the construction company Gråkjær Erhverv A/S for the building of a multi-arena with room for 1,700 spectators. The agreement marks a major step for the club, which will gain better opportunities to develop its handball and welcome even more spectators, fans and business partners through the doors.

Helle Rasmussen, CEO of HØJ Elite, is looking forward to the new setting for top-level handball in Ølstykke, which is crucial for the club's continued development.

"We have dreams and ambitions at HØJ Elite, and the multi-arena gives us the chance to take the next step and add further layers to our development. We want to create handball at a high level and experiences that people want to come together for – and here it's crucial to have the right setting and attractive facilities. That's why it means an incredible amount that we're now getting closer to a modern arena where both the club and the community around us can grow," she says.

Benefiting even more people

With the new arena, the local area gets a new gathering point with room for top-level handball, grassroots sport and cultural activities alike. At the same time, the new facilities give players, volunteers, partners and spectators better settings for activities and togetherness, both on matchdays and in everyday life.

The multi-arena will be around 4,500 square metres and will include, among other things, a fitness room, café area, production kitchen, meeting facilities, changing rooms as well as offices and training rooms. And at HØJ Elite there's great joy that construction can finally get underway.

"We hope that a great many people will enjoy the arena in everyday life. That goes for children and young people who do sport themselves, families in the stands, and those who come for other sporting and cultural events. We want a place where people want to come, meet and be part of something together," says Helle Rasmussen, who also highlights the strong collaboration behind the creation of the arena:

"We've had a great collaboration with Egedal Kommune in creating the best possible setting. Many people have contributed to getting us here, and we're very grateful for that. Now we're looking forward to working with Gråkjær and to seeing the arena take shape."

The multi-arena is expected to be ready for its opening in 2028. The total cost is around 110 million kr. The financing has been provided jointly by Egedal Kommune and a private donation from the ownership group behind HØJ Elite.
