Faroese line player talent joins HØJ Elite

From the summer of 2026 and three seasons forward, HØJ Elite has secured the strong Faroese line player talent Isak Vedelsbøl, who arrives from Swedish side IK Sävehof.

21-year-old Isak Vedelsbøl is a current Faroese senior national team player, and he has previously been described as one of the biggest names on the Faroe Islands' talented U21 national team.

Vedelsbøl has just been selected for the Faroese EURO squad, and over the coming days and weeks he'll get to test himself against some of Europe's very best handball nations.

HØJ Elite's director, Lars Vinther, is also looking forward with great anticipation to our new line player becoming part of the squad next summer.

"Isak is a young, physically strong and ambitious two-way player who has already proven himself at international level. The opportunity arose to get Isak out of his current contract a year before it expires, and we're delighted that it all came together so he can join our squad as early as the coming season.

At just 21 years old, we see huge development potential in Isak, and we're convinced he can both strengthen us in the short term and develop further in our environment. We're really looking forward to bringing him into the squad," says Lars Vinther.

A high-quality environment

Isak Vedelsbøl also has high hopes for his time at HØJ Elite, where he's looking forward to becoming part of a talented and ambitious group of players.

"I chose HØJ Elite because it feels like a good development step for me. I'm joining a high-quality environment where the pace and demands are significantly greater, and that's exactly what I've been looking for. I see HØJ Elite as a place where I can develop a lot, precisely because the level in the squad is so high. It's an environment that challenges me every day, and one I believe will lift me as a player."

Isak Vedelsbøl began his professional career at Faroese club Neistin before moving to H71, also in the Faroe Islands, in 2023. From there he moved on to his current club, Swedish side IK Sävehof, before pulling on the HØJ shirt next summer.

Ahead of the start of the EURO finals, Isak Vedelsbøl has 14 senior caps for the Faroe Islands to his name.
