HØJ Elite – Silkeborg-Voel KFUM 40-31 (18-17)
The league women are the winners of the 2025/26 qualification round.
That's the verdict after yet another strong performance on Sunday afternoon in Ølstykke-Hallen.
The opponents were Silkeborg-Voel, who – just like the HØJ Elite women – had the chance to win the qualification round with a victory. But it was the home side that came out on top in that battle, with a comfortable nine-goal win.
The match was evenly matched at times, but the home side were in front throughout.
From the start of the second half, though, there was no doubt. Four goals – and only one conceded – within the first five minutes gave them the decisive boost that the visitors never recovered from.
The win was thoroughly deserved, and HØJ Elite's league women can now look back on an impressive debut season in the håndboldliga.
Kristian Kristensen says:
“The girls have played a tremendous qualification round without a single defeat, which speaks for itself. It's been a remarkably consistent stretch overall. At the same time, it was wonderful to finish with a home win in front of our many loyal fans and sponsors, who have backed us throughout the entire season,” says KK, before continuing:
“What stands out to me in particular is the great run of form, with just one defeat since March 14th in Ikast,” concludes the proud head coach, who also sends plenty of praise to his staff around the team for a great effort.
Player of the match was Filippa Nedovic, who once again delivered a solid performance and was also top scorer with 8 goals.
Overall, this was once again a complete team effort, which has been the hallmark of the side in the latter part of the season. Just a single defeat in the last nine matches is testament to a significant development.
We send a big congratulations to the league women on a great season.
