Good fight — but not enough in the Cup

If spirit, fight and the sheer joy of playing were the only criteria for victory, the HØJ Elite women would be right up at the front in both the league and the cup tournament.

In Tuesday's cup clash against a skilled HH Elite side from Horsens, however, the opposition proved a touch too tough this time around. The match started evenly, and after a quarter of an hour the score was all square at 8-8, before the visitors began to pull away.

That final cutting edge was missing at both ends of the court, and the 12-15 half-time lead was deserved.

After the break we had several good chances to close the gap, but we couldn't quite manage it, as HH Elite made life difficult for our favourites.

Head coach Kristian Kristensen says:

“Horsens were the better side on the day, and in that light the result was entirely fair. We're naturally disappointed that we couldn't string together more stable minutes in the match. Now we turn our focus to the next task against Odense — tomorrow, Thursday, at Farum Arena. We're looking forward to feeling the support from the stands again, which has been absolutely fantastic at the start of the season.”

Player of the match was Anne Cathrine Lundbye, who put in a great performance, while the honour of HØJ Elite's top scorer once again went to Emma Navne with 6 goals.
