A CRUEL TWIST AGAINST SAH

There was give and take against a sharp SAH side when Ølstykke-Hallen threw open its doors to the fans for the year's final home game in Bambuni Herreligaen.
On paper it was an extremely tough task, but it developed in such a way that, in the closing seconds, we actually had a point within reach – and even a good chance of two. In dramatic fashion, though, it all ended with nothing after what had otherwise been a fine comeback in the second half.
The visitors made the better start and built up a solid four-goal lead after the first quarter. At that point there was little to suggest we'd come away with anything from the game on Sunday afternoon.
There wasn't much to argue about regarding the 16-19 half-time deficit, as we lacked sharpness in both our passing and our finishing.
After the break, however, we came flying out of the blocks and already had a chance to level after just two minutes. We didn't take it, and instead SAH stretched their lead to four goals just three minutes later.
Once again it was time to roll up the sleeves, and the chase to reel in the visitors' lead was on. It paid off in style when Michael Damgaard levelled it at 24-24 after 42 minutes. From there, the rest of the match balanced on a knife's edge.
With 23 seconds left the scoreboard read 34-34, and with a man advantage and one final attack, our favourites had a golden opportunity to secure at least one vital point against one of the league's top sides.
Sadly it wasn't to be, and instead a sharp SAH just about managed to pull off a last-second finish that secured the away side the two important points. A cruel twist, but one we can already make amends for on Saturday, when we visit Nordsjælland Håndbold at Royal Stage in Hillerød for the year's final game.
