HØJ becomes fundraising partner for Børns Vilkår – donates all gate revenue from key matches

HØJ and HØJ Elite are becoming official fundraising partner for Børns Vilkår to help shine a light on children's wellbeing and the right to a safe childhood.

The partnership kicks off on 8 March, when HØJ Elite donates all gate revenue from the men's home match against Grindsted to Børns Vilkår. All gate revenue from the league women's match against Silkeborg-Voel on 14 March will also be donated to Børns Vilkår.

At HØJ and HØJ Elite, chairwoman Helle Rasmussen is looking forward to fighting to ensure that every child in Denmark can grow up feeling safe.

"At HØJ we're proud to use our voice and our platform to make a real difference for children and young people. HØJ is much more than handball. We're a community where kids and young people should feel safe, supported and cared for. That's why the partnership with Børns Vilkår is completely natural for us – we want to take responsibility and contribute where the need is greatest," says Helle Rasmussen, adding:

"Now we hope to see as many people as possible in Ølstykke-Hallen when our league men take on Grindsted and our league women face Silkeborg-Voel, so that together we can kickstart the partnership with a great donation," says Helle Rasmussen.

Børns Vilkår is behind BørneTelefonen and HØRT, among others, which last year handled almost 64,000 conversations with children and young people about everything from friendships to violence in the home. Donations to Børns Vilkår help ensure that even more children can get through and receive the support they need.

A range of support initiatives

At Børns Vilkår, they're looking forward to the collaboration with HØJ and HØJ Elite.

"Communities and club life play an important role in children's wellbeing. When a handball club like HØJ gets involved in our cause, it sends a strong signal that children's wellbeing is a shared responsibility. We're very grateful for the support and commitment and look forward to working together," says Lisbet Christoffersen, head of communications, engagement and press at Børns Vilkår.

In addition to donating the gate revenue, HØJ has also donated an auction package consisting of VIP tickets to a selected match, a signed player jersey and a meet and greet with handball icon Hans Lindberg – a package you can bid on at Børns Vilkår's live auction with Bruun Rasmussen on 19 March. On top of that, several of HØJ's and HØJ Elite's players will be volunteer collectors in the local area during Børns Vilkår's national fundraising drive on 22 March.

And there's more exciting stuff to come as part of the partnership, says Helle Rasmussen.

"This is only the beginning. Over the course of the year we'll roll out several new initiatives that both raise funds and create awareness of the important and substantial work Børns Vilkår does. And we'll involve the entire club – from the youth players at HØJ to our professional league stars at HØJ Elite," says Helle Rasmussen.
