Despite a year of major investments, HØJ Elite boasts a robust equity that gives the handball company a strong foundation in its pursuit of big sporting ambitions.
The annual accounts for the 2024/2025 season show a result of -DKK 2.02 million, while equity stands at DKK 6.994 million. This comes on the back of a historic season for HØJ Elite, in which both the women's and men's teams won promotion to the handball leagues.
Lars Vinther, director of HØJ Elite, explains that the result is in line with expectations.
"The result has to be seen in the light of HØJ Elite having made big investments – both in players and in the setup around the teams and the matches. On top of that, we've strengthened our organisation so that off the court we're geared up for the next steps in our development too. All in all, these are considerable costs, and that's why I'm particularly pleased that we can maintain such a strong equity, which gives us the calm and the firepower to keep working on strengthening HØJ Elite's position," says Lars Vinther, before continuing:
"It's been a fantastic year for HØJ Elite with promotions to both leagues. It's a milestone for us and the current high point of the project we started more than ten years ago. But we have no intention of resting on our laurels – we're constantly working to get better. We already have two competitive teams, but we have even bigger ambitions for the coming years. That's why we're also looking forward to welcoming profiles like Kaja Kamp and Lasse Andersson next season."
Blown away by the interest
Chair of the board Helle Rasmussen is also pleased with the way things are developing at HØJ Elite.
After the men's and women's teams' promotions to the leagues, HØJ Elite has become the focus of a great deal of attention. That has brought growth on the commercial side, where DSV, for example, has come on board as a major sponsor.
"Generally speaking, we can say that we've been blown away by the enormous interest we've experienced around HØJ Elite. We're being contacted on a large scale by media outlets wanting to know more about us. There's also been a marked increase in the number of companies who want to be part of the journey. And it's absolutely key that we can expand the number of commercial partnerships even further so we can deliver on our goal of becoming a sustainable business," says Helle Rasmussen, before continuing:
"In addition, we've gained even more fans of all ages and different nationalities, who support us and create a fantastic atmosphere on our home court. At the same time, a decision has been made to build a new arena in Ølstykke, which means we'll have better facilities to continue our development in going forward. That's why we're optimistic and feel, overall, that we're well placed for the future."
