From next season, HØJ Elite have secured the services of the strong Swedish right back Andreas Lang, who brings international experience and attacking quality to the team. Andreas Lang joins from French club Saint-Raphael Var Handball.

Andreas Lang has signed a three-year contract running from the summer of 2026, marking his return to the Danish league, where he previously played for Sønderjyske.

The 29-year-old Swede, who is part of the Swedish provisional EM squad, will bring plenty of strong attacking qualities with him to HØJ Elite. And HØJ Elite's director, Lars Vinther, is looking forward to seeing the goal-scoring right back join the squad.

"Over several seasons, Andreas Lang has performed at a high level in top European handball. He'll contribute great breakthrough power, a high scoring rate and the ability to take responsibility in the decisive moments. At the same time, Andreas is an ambitious and hard-working player who fits perfectly with our sporting ambitions and culture," says Lars Vinther.

An important step in the continued development

Andreas Lang sees the move to HØJ Elite as an exciting next step in his career, and he's looking forward to contributing to the club's continued development.

"I immediately sensed that HØJ Elite is a very appealing project that both inspires me and gives me the chance to develop as a handball player. It's a club with high ambitions and clear goals, and those are values I truly share. I want to win as many games as possible, and that's why choosing HØJ Elite feels absolutely right.

For my family and me, it also feels fantastic to return to Denmark. We thrived here before, and the Danish league is both strong and challenging to play in.

Getting the opportunity to land at a club like HØJ is a privilege, and I'm ready to put in the hard work it takes to reach the club's goals.

I'm really looking forward to meeting my new teammates, everyone who works at the club and all the fans in the stands."

Andreas Lang began his professional career at Swedish side Alingsås before moving to Sønderjyske in 2021. After three seasons in the Danish league, he joined French club Saint-Raphaël Var Handball in 2024, and now he's making the switch to HØJ Elite and returning to the Danish league.

Andreas Lang has 5 caps for the Swedish national team.
