HØJ Elite is further strengthening the coaching team around the men's side with Norwegian Ole Erevik, who joins with immediate effect. He'll take on the role of goalkeeper coach alongside his duties at Odense Håndbold, where he's attached to the women's league team.

The former Norwegian international goalkeeper brings a wealth of experience from both Danish and international top-flight handball.

Hans Lindberg, Director of Sport at HØJ Elite, is looking forward to putting the Norwegian legend's expertise to use at the club.

"For a while now we've been looking into the possibility of bringing in a sparring partner for our keepers, because – no matter the setup – they need a special and specialised focus. Ole Erevik was a dream scenario, and luckily it turned out that Ole had both the time and the desire to team up with us, and we're incredibly pleased about that," says Hans Lindberg.

"Ole is of course a former top goalkeeper himself, with both international club and international match experience, and he's also played several seasons in the Danish league. So he knows what it's all about. I'm sure Ole will be an important piece in our ongoing work to strengthen the culture and quality of the overall setup at HØJ Elite," says Hans Lindberg.

Vast experience

Ole Erevik began his career at Stavanger Håndball in 2000 and went on to play in Denmark, Spain, Germany and France before ending his playing career in 2019.

In Denmark he has represented KIF Kolding, Aalborg Håndbold and GOG. With Aalborg he won the Danish championship in the 2012/2013 season, alongside – among others – Morten Slundt, who today is part of HØJ Elite's administration.

Ole Erevik is looking forward to becoming part of the exciting journey HØJ Elite is on.

"I'm really looking forward to becoming part of HØJ Elite. The club has big ambitions, and I'm excited to help deliver on them. On top of that, there's a skilled and ambitious coaching staff and a team with plenty of quality, so it's an exciting task to be part of," says Erevik, and continues:

"I'm looking forward to getting to know the goalkeepers better and, together with them and the rest of the staff, working on the details that can make a decisive difference in matches," says Ole Erevik.

For the Norwegian national team, Ole Erevik earned 184 senior caps, with World Championship silver in 2017 as one of his career highlights.

That experience will now benefit HØJ Elite's goalkeepers in the day-to-day work out on the training court.
