Michael Damgaard comes home – and strengthens HØJ Elitehåndbold

Here at HØJ Elite, we're proud to present Michael Damgaard as a major and obvious boost to the squad for the upcoming season.

Michael Damgaard, who has just won the Champions League trophy with SC Magdeburg, joins the HØJ family after ten years at the German giants, where he was a fan favourite and a key, influential figure in the back line with no fewer than 1,201 goals.

On top of his brand-new Champions League title, Damgaard also won the same trophy in 2023, and he has claimed the coveted German championship in both 2022 and 2024.

For Denmark, our new star player has made 103 senior international appearances and scored as many as 264 goals.

HØJ Elite head coach Stian Tønnesen explains:

"In Michael, we're getting a player who has competed at the absolute top level and with huge experience. He's an explosive player whose one-on-one play and shot are his real standout strengths. We're truly delighted that, among several options, Michael has chosen us here at HØJ Elite."
