THE CHANCES WERE THERE – BUT THE FINISHING WAS MISSING AGAINST BSH

HØJ ELITE – BSH 23-32 (11-14)
It never became the game we'd hoped for. Instead, the clash turned into a tale of missed chances – the main talking point after the meeting with a strong BSH, our opponents on Friday night in Farum Arena.
The opportunities were certainly there – and they were big ones – but the cutting edge was missing against a skilled and experienced BSH outfit, who could head home with a clear and comfortable win.
Even though we didn't convert the many clear-cut chances into goals, we also have to credit BSH's solid defence and an excellent goalkeeper who managed to keep us down to a modest 23 goals.
Despite the lack of efficiency, we were by no means out of it in the first half. Some way into the second half, we even had the chance to pull within one with 38 minutes on the clock.
We didn't take that lifeline, and nine minutes later the visitors had instead seized their best spell to score six times in a row. That sequence settled the game once and for all, and it all ended in a clear defeat to the young yet experienced forces from BSH.
Simen Schønningsen was deservedly named HØJ Elite's Man of the Match after a great and relentless fight throughout, and he was also top scorer with 5 goals.
Our talented goalkeeping duo also showed their class in flashes, while Jonathan Svensson delivered several hard-hitting samples of his fantastic shooting repertoire.
We thank the more than a thousand spectators from the HØJ family for their support, and we can now look ahead to our next exciting task, when we already face TMS Ringsted away this coming Wednesday.
