Nadia Mielke-Offendal returns home to HØJ Elite
HØJ Elite has signed a three-year deal with the strong playmaker Nadia Mielke-Offendal, who is thereby returning home to her childhood club.
Nadia was last at HØJ in 2013, when, as a first-year senior at the age of 18, she moved to Odense Håndbold.
Since Nadia – one of the very biggest talents in HØJ's history – left the club, she has played 13 seasons in the Danish and French leagues. Along the way she has also racked up 20 caps for the senior national team and taken part in a final tournament for Denmark.
And from the summer of 2026 she is finally coming home to Denmark and to her childhood club HØJ – something chairwoman Helle Rasmussen is absolutely delighted about.
"Nadia is a symbol of how far we've come at HØJ. With big ambitions she left the club shortly before we founded HØJ Elite, and we've now come so far that a player of Nadia's calibre finds it attractive to return. We're both happy and proud about that, and we have high expectations for the mark Nadia can leave," says Helle Rasmussen, who elaborates:
"Nadia has managed to keep herself at the top both physically and technically, she has picked up tons of routine and experience – and not least – she still has a huge burning passion for playing handball at the highest level. That's why I think this is a good time for the move and exactly the right match for both parties."
Both league player and youth coach Nadia Mielke-Offendal is equally looking forward to returning to the place that played such a big part in shaping her as a handball player.
"It was with a "see you again" in 2013 when I left HØJ to play for Odense. And when I was presented with HØJ Elite's ambitions and values, I had no doubt that this was something I really wanted to be part of one day. I'm so excited to meet the girls and to once again become part of the HØJ family," says Nadia Mielke-Offendal, who continues:
"I hope that with my experience from the Danish league and my six years in France I can help strengthen the team and the club both on and off the court. For me this isn't just a transfer, it's coming home – home to my childhood club and the club closest to my heart."
Beyond her role on the league team, Nadia will also leave her mark on the club's overall development. She will work as a youth coach and in that way contribute to HØJ's ambitions of raising the quality of the youth work, which is happening among other things through the club's new talent programme.
Since leaving HØJ in 2013, Nadia Mielke-Offendal has played for Odense Håndbold, Paris 92, Chambray Touraine HB and most recently JDA Bourgogne Dijon Handball.
