STRONG REGULAR-SEASON FINISH FOR THE LIGA WOMEN – NOW THE QUALIFICATION ROUND AWAITS

In their first season in the Bambuni Kvindeligaen, our liga women have developed markedly and impressed across the board, delivering a strong 9th place once the regular season wrapped up. That impressive finish was secured in part through five wins west of the Great Belt – among them the historic victory in Viborg.

The debut season in the league has also drawn recognition from former liga player and current TV2 Sport pundit Sofie Bæk, who in the studio ahead of the final round of the regular season pointed to HØJ Elite as “the feel-good story of the regular season.”

“They've done a really, really good job as a newly promoted side,” was her verdict on the broadcast, where Sofie Bæk highlighted among other things the haul of 19 points. At the same time she described the HØJ Elite project as “hugely exciting.”

Here, head coach Kristian Kristensen shares his thoughts on the regular season and the upcoming qualification matches.

“Our first regular season in the Bambuni Kvindeligaen has, overall, been a success. A 9th place and 19 points give the team a good run-up to the qualification round, where four of the five teams are guaranteed a spot in next season's league, while the fifth-placed side faces a further two or three matches against the winner of Ajax and Rødovre from the 1. division.

The squad and the club have shown great progress in their development and in adapting to the workload demands that come with the Danish Liga. On top of that, several of the players have also developed individually, which is of course very positive.

The key to the success is also to be found off the court. As a whole, the group has worked hard to strengthen the mental side of things, and on that note I send big praise to the staff around the team.

Now it's about seeing this impressive curve through, so we can keep developing. That's what the project, our fans and not least all the volunteers who back us up every day deserve,” Kristian Kristensen concludes.
