Two crucial points were secured on Thursday night against Danish championship silver medalists Skjern Håndbold, as we took control of the game right from the start.

After 13 minutes the scoreboard read 5-2, thanks in part to several strong defensive efforts that gave Till Klimpe good working conditions in goal.

Michael Damgaard came on after about fifteen minutes of play and delivered – nothing short of – a brilliant performance right up to the final whistle. Our number 34 put away no fewer than 11 goals, and together with Till Klimpke – who pulled off one fine save after another – and Tobias Nielsen, who was "here, there and everywhere" (7 goals), he was the best player on the court.

A 13-11 lead at the break was the starting point for the final 30 minutes, and even though the visitors drew level, most recently at 15-15, the HØJ Elite men were otherwise constantly in front.

Young Lauge Hemmingsen delivered an outstanding performance in defense, while lightning-quick Lukas Karlskov impressed with a phenomenal cameo and, among other things, sealed the game at the final score of 32-28.

A fine and focused team effort, spiced with several strong individual performances, thus brought home the season's second win in Bambuni Herreligaen.

Before the men's game, our talented league women had the pleasure of facing the world-class side from Odense Håndbold. It proved to be quite a handful and a comfortable win for the strong Funen team, despite several encouraging moments along the way.
