HØJ Elite – Grindsted Håndbold 29-28 (15-14)
Every seat was snapped up ahead of Sunday's clash in Ølstykke-Hallen, which – besides the showdown on the court – also marked the premiere of HØJ's new and exciting partnership with Børns Vilkår, where we are now registered as an official fundraising partner.
To kickstart the partnership, all gate revenue went straight to Børns Vilkår, every last krone. That's why it was absolutely fantastic to see the packed stands, signalling a perfect start to a strong and important collaboration.
The game on the court ended in an important win, but it turned into a real thriller in the closing seconds, even though our favourites had built up several comfortable leads in the second half.
Simen Schønningsen (7 goals) fired away in his familiar style, Tobias Nielsen (5 goals) also did well, and Lauge Hemmingsen – who has just extended his deal by another two seasons – converted all five of his attempts. Great performances from our talented trio.
In goal, Emil Kheri Imsgard had one of his very best days in the HØJ shirt. A save percentage of nearly 46 in open play was a decisive factor in securing those two extremely important points.
The next game is already this Saturday, when the league men travel to face Fredericia HK away.
